FESTIVE DETAILS

snowflake embroidery

The most wonderful time of the year is almost upon us, so I thought I would share a few festive bits on the blog today. Without sounding like a total Scrooge, I seem to feel less and less festive with each passing year. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the day itself, but the entire build up feels like it begins far too early, yet still manages to fly by before I’ve even had the chance to embrace it. Then it’s all over for another year and I’m left wondering where all of my money has gone. Is it just me? I guess that’s what working in retail does to your outlook on Christmas..

On a more positive note, I’ve seriously enjoyed working on all of my Etsy orders this holiday season. I’ve already had some lovely messages from customers telling me how pleased and grateful they are with their new owl or fox, and that they have found the perfect gift. The thought of their loved ones unwrapping them on Christmas day makes my heart happy.

On with the decorative bits, I embroidered this snowflake on to a little 4 inch hoop for our tree. (I actually made a few hoops for a rather unsuccessful Christmas craft fair that George and I attended, but we won’t mention that). Unfortunately I think I left it a little too late to add Christmas hoops to Etsy, and haven’t really shared them until now, but it’s definitely something I’m going to focus on in 2016 and will start preparing for a lot earlier on in the year.

Finishing up with a few snaps from a very festive little shoot that George did with some of our products. I’m in love with this new crimson ukulele colour and the red tartan bow tie for Roy the penguin, both seasonally appropriate and available to order in the shop!

I’d love to see some of your own festive home details or recent makes. Are any of you giving handmade gifts this Christmas?
