Hello and happy April! I haven’t posted in a while (sorry about that) but I’m back today with a little collection of botanical embroideries that I’ve just listed in my Etsy shop. I recently found myself wondering what to do with the remnants of this leafy patterned fabric, which was left over from our wedding. I only had small scraps remaining but it was too pretty to go to waste, so I decided that turning it into embroidery hoop art made perfect sense!
I kept these embroideries very minimal with all black leaves and just a spot of colour from the bumble bee. I really like the soft, subtle pattern in this fabric and thought the contrast of the black thread was really eye catching and contemporary.

The stitching didn’t stop there because scraps are also ideal for making mini embroidery hoop necklaces! You can see all my current necklace designs right here but I’ll be adding plenty more very soon.

I’ve always felt particularly inspired by wildlife and nature, which is pretty much the foundation of my entire business and design aesthetic, but even more so at this time of year. Spring and Summer are my favourite seasons (said everyone ever..) so the botanical theme won’t be stopping anytime soon. Expect plenty more leaves, florals and colour in the coming weeks, in celebration of the prettiest time of year!
What do you think of this little collection? Which piece is your favourite?
Very pretty
